Title: Social Development and the Sustainable Development Goals in South Asia

Edited by: Nitya Mohan Khemka and Suraj Kumar

South Asia is amongst the fastest growing regions in the world, but it also has significant deficits in human development, with 37% of the world's poor and nearly half the world's malnourished children. This book assesses the roadmap for the implementation of the SDGs in South Asia, focusing in particular on poverty reduction, inequality, health/wellbeing and water and sanitation. It brings together leading academics, researchers and policy experts from across South Asia to weigh in on social development and the SDGs and discuss the way forward for implementing the 2030 Development Agenda. It will be a useful resource for researchers, policy influencers, planners, implementers, students, and activists wanting to push to achieve the SDGs.
