Dr Yiyun Chen

Yiyun Chen is an associate professor in the School of Resource and Environmental Science, Wuhan University, China. He has backgrounds in geography, spatial data analysis, and cartography. His research interests include soil security and sustainable development in the Anthropocene. His current researches focus on (1) Spatial-temporal dynamics of grain yield and the potential driving factors at the county level in China; (2) Sustainable development of agriculture and land management in the Qilu Lake watershed, Yunnan Province, China. These two research projects are in collaboration with Dr Shailaja Fennell.

Distinguished Visiting Fellow Azman Mokhtar

Azman Mokhtar is currently the Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Centre of Development Studies, Cambridge University. From 2004 to 2018, he was the CEO of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Malaysia's Sovereign Wealth Fund, trebling the assets under management to USD40bn during that period. Prior to Khazanah, he was the Head of Research for UBS and Salomon Smith Barney in Malaysia. Azman graduated with distinction with an M. Phil in Development Studies from Cambridge University as a Chevening scholar, is a CFA charter holder, a chartered accountant and a holder of a diploma in Islamic Studies. His research interest at CDS is in the areas of Finance and Society, State and Markets and the Impact Investing movement linking Profits and Purpose. He is also currently a Bye-Fellow of Darwin College, Cambridge., an Adjunct Professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, a member of the Global Future Council on Investing of the World Economic Forum, Davos and a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Ethical Finance Initiative, Edinburgh.
