Biography:
Raymond Apthorpe draws for (half) paper 900 on some years of reflective accounts of international aid studies, including his own, also his experience of graduate teaching - and thesis supervision –in international affairs, public policy, international development, anthropology, and - since 2005 - international humanitarian assistance and its institutions and practices, in a number of universities in different countries. He has worked for, and with, a variety of intergovernmental, governmental, and non-governmental bodies in the world of aid. For the past five years he has served as a trustee of the Royal Anthropological Institute, currently also as its Hon. Sec.
